Part of the famous Torii corridors behind the Fushimi Inari Taisha shrine in Kyoto, Japan during the early morning hours before the crowds arrive. This very important shrine is dedicated to Inari, the god of rice.

I utilize photography in an attempt to capture the beauty that I see in the world. Whether I am witnessing a wry smile on a mountain gorillas face as it glances around its troop in Uganda, the character of a charismatic Amsterdam canal, or the sun breaking the shell of a new day over the wetlands near my home, my goal is to share that beauty with others through photography.
