Zapata Falls near the awe inspiring Great Sand Dunes National Park in southern Colorado. The park contains the tallest sand dunes in North America, rising about 750 feet (230 m) from the floor of the San Luis Valley on the western base of the Sangre de Cristo Range, covering about 19,000 acres.

I utilize photography in an attempt to capture the beauty that I see in the world. Whether I am witnessing a wry smile on a mountain gorillas face as it glances around its troop in Uganda, the character of a charismatic Amsterdam canal, or the sun breaking the shell of a new day over the wetlands near my home, my goal is to share that beauty with others through photography.
